With more than 4 decades of EHS leadership at a fortune 500 company, Steve Beck is passionate about ensuring his clients are optimized for success. An evangelist for Lean Manufacturing as the best way to protect and motivate people, to identify and eliminate waste, and to maximize value within organizations, Steve’s clients benefit from his extensive experience in leading improvement activities that impact the bottom line.
Steve has the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, from frontline to C-suite, achieving stunning results. At a molten metal plant, his plan effectively cut the transfer time by one-third. His implementation of lean manufacturing principles was so exemplary at another plant that the company’s Board of Directors toured his facility and established it as the training model for the entire global enterprise.
More recently, Steve facilitated annual planning for the operations leadership team by applying “Hoshin Kanri” techniques to develop comprehensive plans and the methodical process needed to implement their ambitions. Additionally, he leveraged lean concepts to develop and deploy a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety system that has resulted in world class safety and security for a healthy and productive workforce.
With these robust experiences, Steve has developed deep technical competencies in the following areas:
EHS Systems Audits
Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
When he is not enthusiastically implementing Lean principles in service to his clients safety and overall business goals, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife Mary Alice in their home in Montgomery, Alabama, watching their three children and three grandchildren grow. They also enjoy reading, forest bathing walks, tennis, entertaining and learning new things.
